As part of the program, we will be performing a showcase at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall. The performance will feature selections from our most popular programs: Dance Mix, The Rite of Spring, and Pyrotechnics. Admission is completely free, and the program also includes performances by four other groups, considered classical music's most exciting and promising young ensembles. Cygnus Ensemble in Concert - World Premiere of Milton Babbitt's Sawn Song No. 1 The internationally acclaimed Cygnus Ensemble will perform works of the seminal American composer Milton Babbitt, including the world premiere of a composition written especially for Cygnus. Babbitt is one of the most celebrated of 20th-century composers, and highly influential in contemporary music and composition. The performance includes pre-concert talk by Babbitt, and short film on his life. . Cygnus is in residence at the College throughout the 2002-2003 academic year, and this concert will be the third an last concert the group will perform while in residence. Featuring Judith Bettina, soprano. Tickets are $10 for regular admission and $8 for senior citizens and students from other institutions with a current ID.
